The regeneration of human resources in the agricultural sector requires the involvement of young people with diverse competencies, including those from non-agricultural disciplines. This study aims to describe the perceptions and interests of Business Administration students at Politeknik Negeri Semarang regarding careers in the agricultural sector. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving 113 students as respondents. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed descriptively by calculating perception and interest indices. The results show that students had a positive perception of careers in the agricultural sector, with an overall index of 74.99%. The highest perception scores were found for technological development (87.79%) and the applicability of business and administrative competencies (85.49%). Students also demonstrated a high level of interest in engaging in the agricultural sector, with an overall index of 74.16%. The use of digital media for marketing agricultural products was the most preferred form of engagement (81.24%), while considering agriculture or agribusiness as a career choice after graduation received the lowest index (70.97%), although it remained within the high category. These findings indicate that the agricultural sector becomes particularly attractive to Business Administration students when it is associated with technological development and activities relevant to their business competencies. The study highlights the potential for agricultural human resource regeneration to extend beyond agricultural disciplines by involving young talent with business, marketing, and digital competencies in supporting the agribusiness system.
