Presidential Election in 2014 has given us aclear picture of political culture growing in
contempary Indonesian political condition.
Many believe that the excessive competition
between the two presidential candidates
(Joko Widodo and Prabowo Soebianto) were
caused by the low politics practised by
political parties. Many negative political
actions were done to win the competition.
Political parties were negatively perceived.
Negative image of the political parties was
not proportionally considered important by
those parties. They were not aware of the
importance of implementing appropriate
political public relations to construct their
image. Positive image of the political parties
certainly in the long run will create politial
benefits. This article tries to give a snapshot
of the matter.
