Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) whether
the compensation and work environment has
a positive and significant impact on
employee motivation in logistic department
of PT. Semarang Autocomp Manufacturing
Indonesia (SAMI) Semarang, and 2) the
most significant factors that affect
compensation and work environment
towards employee motivation in logistic
department.
In this study the author deploys 55
questionnaires to all employees of the
logistic department at PT SAMI. The method
used by the authors is the classical
assumption test, multiple linear regression
analysis and coefficient determination test.
Based on the calculation of data and
analysis used, the regression equation is:
Y = 0.881 + 0,315X1 + 0,297X2
By using multiple linear regression
analysis, it can be seen that the variable
compensation (X1) with the calculated value
of 5.579 T is greater than 1,675 tables T,
and the significant value of 0.000 using a
0.05 significances. 0.000 <0.05. It means
that the compensation variable have
significant and positive effect on work
motivation.
There is a positive and significant
influence between work environment
variables (X2) on work motivation. With the
value of T calculated = 3.683 (greater than
T table 1.675) and significance value of
0.001 (less than 0.05).
Based on the double determination test with
adjusted R-square value of 0.573, this means
that the variable compensation (X1) and
work environment (X2) has a 57.3% effect
on work motivation.
From the above results it is concluded
that the compensation and work
environment have positive and significant
effect on work motivation variable.
Compensation has a greater influence than
the working environment. It can be seen
from the t table, where the value of
compensation = 5.579 which is greater than
3,683 working environment.
