Model Pengembangan Soft Skills Terintegrasi pada Kurikulum Berbasis Kompetensi bagi Mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Semarang
Abstract
The main problem in this study is the big gap between the ratio needs of soft skills and hard skills in the world of work which are inversely related to the development in college. The objectives of the study are to measure the level of potential of soft skills possessed by Semarang State Polytechnic students, to measure the degree of importance of each aspect of soft skills to determine the success of individuals in the work environment as perceived by students, find models of integrated development of soft skills in a curriculum-based competencies that can be applied to the development of soft skills in program studies in Semarang State Polytechnic environment. The key indicators in this study are variables: personal resilience, extraversion, friendliness, emotionally stable, and openness to experience. Some ways of collecting data in this research, namely: recording method to determine the secondary data, e.g. the number of classes in each study program, the number of students, the distribution of each study program and method students survey: conducted by distributing questionaires to the respondents by using self-report assessment approach. Through the questionnaire respondents were asked to rate the stimulus based on compliance with the conditions of his or her potential. The grading scale used was the scale of the continuum of assessment in which respondents assessed their potential (self report) based on the stimulus given to provide figures on the continuum scale of 1 to 10, where the number 1 indicates the potential of a very weak and figure 10 shows a very strong potential. To judge the importance of each attribute/indicator used soft skills continuum rating scale of 1 to 10, where 1 means the number is not very important and the number 10 means very important. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling using purposive random sampling. To answer the research objectives on the potential of soft skills possessed by students POLINES used descriptive analysis. In order to find a model of the development of appropriate soft skills the performance-importance analysis was used. The Performance-Importance Analysis with identifiable indicators/ attributes showed what soft skills should be considered in the development effort.
