Abstract


Traditional mixing of petis dough still uses the manual method with human power. This is an obstacle for MSMEs making petis in the Sendangmulyo area. Making petis 5 Kg takes ± 5 hours to become petis that is ready for consumption. To increase productivity and efficiency of time and energy during the petis production process, a design for the dough mixer machine that drives the electric motor, has a maximum capacity of 50 Kg/production. The design of the petis dough mixer machine uses literature study methods, alternative designs, component manufacturing, assembling, design trials, data collection, and analysis of test data. In testing the performance of this machine, the mixing process is automatically faster than manual and minimizes the human effort used to get the capacity and optimality of the petis dough mixer machine. The results of the design resulted in a machine with dimensions of 650 × 510 × 1002 [mm] with a 0.5 HP AC electric motor as the main driver. The best test results of the machine with the manufacture of 10 Kg petis takes 3 hours. This shows that the petis mixer machine that has been designed is able to increase the effectiveness and efficiency in terms of time and energy expended compared to the process of mixing the petis dough manually.
