Abstract


The purpose of the study was to improve the skills of students in appreciating the stories in class XII SMK TPPPP 1 1 Klaten 2014 / 2015. Subjek were students of class XII SMK TPPPP 1 1 Klaten totaling 35 students. Data collection techniques are observation / observation and written tests. The research uses a cycle twice the cycle / and ll with the planning phase, pelaksananan action, observation, and reflection. Data were analyzed using percentage and mean and dikomparasikan / compared the results of each cycle. The results showed that by applying methods of cooperative learning model of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) can increase student achievement on competency standards "elements of intrinsic literary works" for students of class XII TPPPP 1 SMK 1 Klaten in the second semester 2014 / 2015. This is indicated by the results of the discussion: which shows an increase from cycle to cycle proceeds as follows: The lowest value increased by 50% from 40 to 80, the highest value increased 5.5% from 85 to 95, the average value increased by 24% from 65,2 to 85,53 and completeness rose from 82% to 100%.
