"Luto Metan (Kain Hitam)" Simbol Komunikasi Warga Belu Baru (Warga Eks Timor-Timur) Nusa Tenggara Timur

Abstract

The goal of research to find out the usage meaning of luto metan (kain hitam/black clothe) as the symbol communication of new citizens in Belu Regency (former citizens of East Timor). The basic concept as the sources in this research are concept about cultural, communication and unverbal communication in order to understand the usage of luto metan (kain hitam/ black clothe) with research construct involved appearance at the mourning and time period of usage luto metan. The result of the research indicated that usage of luto metan at mourning time is a kind symbol of communication that indicated attachment relationship between the wearer of luto metan with the families who died. The usage of luto metan described condolences and expression of love to families who has died.
