Local Newspaper Will Never Die (Challenge for Local Newspaper Business)

Abstract


Media business is a trust business and content plays an important role. The development of technology nowadays also predicts decrease of mass media, especially newspaper. From United Stated country, many newspapers went bankrupt, but it doesn't happen in Indonesia. Not all people in Indonesia out from illiterate, so there are many chances to accomplish this. Local newspaper still arises because of characteristic of local society. They know big issues or national issues from television and local issues from newspaper. Instead, people with socioeconomic segment B and C in Indonesia higher than people with socioeconomic segment A. We could see this condition in all of Indonesia region. Newspapers have been predicted to exist until 20 years later. Newspaper industry will survive with segmented market, it combines with interactive website, local content as main issues, community represented, and specific for people don't want using technology.
