PENGEMBANGAN LABORATORIUM KOMPUTER PERANCANGAN MESIN DENGAN PRINTER 3 DIMENSI (3D) TIPE FUSED DEPOSITION MODELLING (FDM)

Abstract


Printer of 3 Dimensional is a relatively new and practical technological innovation that can be used to make products from non-ferrous materials. This product can be a prototype of the design process. The purpose of research on 3D printers is as a means of education for the development of a computer laboratory for mechanical engineering design at the Semarang State Polytechnic. The method used in this research is to design, manufacture and test a 3D Printer Prototype of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) type, in which this 3D printer uses additive manufacturing (AM) principles or the addition of material layer by layer, using poly lactic acid filaments. (PLA) 1.75 mm in diameter as the material for the manufacture of the product. The results of the study of one unit of a 3-dimensional printer machine measuring 600x600x600 (mm), the results of testing a 3-dimensional printer that has been made that can produce a product in the form of a cube, a hollow block, and a beam with X, Y, Z axes with a print speed of 20-100 mm/s and product error percentage analysis ranged from 0.1% - 0.3%.
