Abstract


Processing of soybeans for the production of household tempe or middle to lower class traders mostly still use the traditional method for peeling and separating the soybean husks, this process takes a long time, consumes a large amount of human labor and the stripping process is less hygienic. In order to solve this problem, a pulping machine using a serrated cylinder is planned. This machine uses a friction system in the stripping process, where the stripping occurs due to friction between the serrated cylinders as a friction area with soybean seeds. The process of separating the seeds from the shells is to install a slider that has a 1 mm gap with a serrated cylinder. The design method used to manufacture this machine uses the Shigley design process method. The machine is designed to produce 300 kg/hour of peeled soybeans with a maximum hopper capacity of 12 kg and uses a 0.5 HP motor, with a gap between the serrated cylinder and the rubber is 1 mm.
