PELATIHAN KETRAMPILAN PEMANFATAN BARANG BEKAS BAGI IBU-IBU RUMAH TANGGA DI WILAYAH KELURAHAN PADANGSARI KECAMATAN BANYUMANIK KOTA SEMARANG

Abstract

The existence of household waste immensely impacts humans and the environment. Organic and inorganic wastes generated from household activities. Most of the inorganic waste comes from plastic waste. To reduce plastic waste and support the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) movement, recycling plastic waste is extremely necessary. Recycling plastic waste into handicrafts helps improve the family economy. The purpose of this activity is to provide additional knowledge and technology regarding the use of inorganic waste to the community, especially those who live in the Padangsari Village. In addition to providing training in making handicrafts, the women in the community also received knowledge about business and marketing management. The methods used in this activity are training, lectures, group discussions, participation, and practical skill on making handicrafts from plastic. The training participants are housewives who live in Padangsari Village and are interested in recycling inorganic waste. This training allows participants to gain knowledge of business opportunities by utilizing their creativity and skills in making handicrafts to improve their family economy. Apart from providing entrepreneurship materials and training to make inorganic plastic waste crafts, this activity also strengthens the integrated institutions among the community, government, and Politeknik Negeri Semarang.
